Meet Laura Rickard
Laura Rickard is a native New Englander who has been a national park ranger, a middle school teacher, and an organic farmer, among other jobs. Her longest-running job is social scientist, and she currently is a faculty member in the Department of Communication & Journalism at the University of Maine. She lives in Bangor with her husband, two kids, and two Maine Coon cats.

Perfect day: A leisurely run in perfect (black fly-free) late spring Maine weather, brunch at an outdoor cafe, a hike by the ocean, topped off with live music and chatting around the bonfire with family and friends.
